Hello!
This is my 10th year as an English teacher at Vicksburg High School, my 4th as the AP English Language and Composition teacher. I have taught all grades at the high school level and did my internship at Vicksburg Middle School in the eighth grade. I love teaching teenagers! They are such an interesting and complex group of people - no day is ever exactly the same.
Although I currently live in Vicksburg, I am originally from Chicago, which is the reason for the beautiful photo of the city's skyline as my website's theme. I love everything about this city, and go back to visit frequently. This is the reason why I am a DIEHARD Chicago Bears and White Sox fan! I went to college at the University of Ilinois at Chicago, and worked downtown for several years. My husband and I moved to the Kalamazoo area because of a job opportunity for him. Since then we have had four kids- Scott, Brad, Danny and Amy, and various dogs to enrich our lives.
I went to Western Michigan University to complete my teacher certificate training, and earned
my master's degree in English Education in Spring of 2011.
